frequently asked questions
Is parking included in the membership cost?
That all depends on the type of membership. For those who are leasing private offices, they have access to 1 parking spot per office. Two non-reserved spaces are also available for guests of The Apiary and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. For all other memberships, free parking is available on Wellington Street as well as pay per use parking lots close by.
What’s the difference between the designated desk and a hot spot?
Our designated desks are located on the main floor of The Apiary and are reserved for you and you alone. Think of it as your very own desk in an open-concept office. The hot spots are in the cozy basement of The Apiary and are reserved for use daily.
Do I have to sign a lease?
Leases are required for private office and designated desk rentals with a minimum commitment of 6 months. You can cancel your lease with 3 months’ notice if your needs change. Hot spot memberships are monthly, and a 10-day notice requirement for cancellation.
Is a deposit required?
We require your final month’s rental fee upfront for private offices and designated desks to hold your space
What are the office hours at The Apiary?
We know work happens outside of the typical 9-5, therefore, to accommodate the needs of all our members, The Apiary is accessible 7 days per week from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Can I bring outside clients to The Apiary for meetings?
The Apiary has been designed with collaboration in mind, so absolutely. If you have a private office or designated desk membership a monthly allotment of time in the Magnolia Conversation Room is included. As a hot desk member, you can book time in the Conversation Room for an additional fee.
Is there a private space for phone calls if I’m not a private office member?
Hot desk and designated desk members have access to book our “phone booth” or “podcast pod” for times when you need a little more privacy. Bookings are set to a maximum of 1 hour per session and can be booked via our Skedda platform.
Can I bring my pet to The Apiary?
To ensure a comfortable experience for all members, pets are not permitted at The Apiary (other than the patio at the front of the building).
Can I book a tour of The Apiary?
Sure thing. If you would like to tour the space you can register for a day pass to not only tour the building, but also spend some time working at The Apiary. This is a great way to see if our collaborative community is a good fit for your growing business. Sign up for a day pass/tour here.
Does The Apiary have accessible workspaces?
Unfortunately, due to the building’s historic nature and age, we regret to inform you that it is not currently accessible to those with mobility impairments.
